š” Lightbulb: Balancing Ambition with Self-Care
In our recent Land Steward Alliance meeting, we reflected on the challenges of pursuing big, ambitious projects while maintaining personal balance. We meet monthly, as a group of 20 or so, that are working on meaningful land projects - retreat centers, communities and such to discuss challenges and wins. Hereās what stood out:
1ļøā£ Acknowledge the Struggle: Work-life balance is tough, and self-care often takes a back seat when weāre striving for greatness and working on Land Projects that are supposed to help others live in deeper harmony with themselves and the planet.
2ļøā£ Practical Tools for Well-Being: Morning routines, mindfulness practices, blocks of time for breaks within the day and week are key. Also taking at least one day a week off for yourself and your family or loved ones. You have to build consistency here or youāll burn out.
3ļøā£ Self-Care is Non-Negotiable: The group agreedāmaking time for self-care isnāt a luxury; itās a foundation for sustained success and enjoying the ride. This is a lesson I repeat over and over to my clients, as it had gotten the best of me and countless others I work with in our field from project founders to architects and even investors!
As stewards of the land (and our own lives), letās remember: growth starts with nurturing ourselves. š±ā
