The title was Clickbait-y, but I liked what you said. I too am wanting to create a community in Costa Rica and do plant medicine work there. I have a social work background and I know that I will include the community in anything that I do.
I was spiritually called to go live in Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica. a very specific small town. It would make more sense for me to live and create a community in Mexico or most anywhere else in Central or South America. Other places are much more affordable. i know spanish and lived in Mexico for over a year in the past.
but I was called to Costa Rica. and I know a lot of us have been. some may call it woo woo bullshit, the result of too much drugs or whatever, but i've heard the same story over and over again. so why is that?
I can't explain it all here, but I am wrestling with all these issues around gentrification which I have definitely seen in Costa Rica.
Saying this as a broad generalization, there is a lack of awareness by the spiritual community of their impact in CR, and a surprising lack of desire to truly connect with and help the Ticos.
we need more conversation conversations like this out in the open. 🙏
Loved reading this! 🙌 It needs to be said. Infinite gratitude to you for being a lighthouse in the work Ed. Always on point. Hope your trip was amazing. Looking forward to catching up soon. 💚🙏🏻😊
Such an interesting article. Thanks for writing and reflecting on this... Only having been here in Costa Rica for five days, I notice these well-being resorts springing up everywhere and did actually think about how the locals regard it all...
